The third root

Learning-as-Field

Learning is conditioned by distributed reality.

The Field is not background wallpaper. Histories, relationships, tools, timing, access, authority, constraints, practices, environments, and prior movement shape what can become possible. No single actor privately authors the whole formation.

One Field. Situated reads.

The four docks mark governing positions within the Field. Their placement is symbolic rather than cartographic. Select a dock—or the shared centre—and watch the read change without pretending any one position owns the lake.

A calm illustrated lake with a central island and four lantern docks labeled East, West, North, and South; the words Meikyō Shisui appear above the mountains.

Swipe sideways to inspect the full lake. The compass labels belong to the image; the placement is symbolic.

Conditions are not wallpaper

Toggle any condition. The network redraws because what surrounds movement changes what routes are available, payable, visible, or even thinkable.

What Field refuses

Field is not a polite synonym for context. It names conditions with causal weight, distributed ownership, and consequences for movement.

Background wallpaper

The environment does not merely surround learning. It changes access, cost, timing, relation, and what movement can survive.

The single-cause story

One person, variable, strategy, or event cannot automatically explain a distributed formation.

Designer sovereignty

No facilitator, teacher, authority, or framework privately authors the whole Field or owns all movement within it.

Neutral-condition theatre

Rules, schedules, tools, audiences, access routes, and authority arrangements carry cost. “That is just how the room works” is not an exemption.

Field within the triad

Field is not the final stage. It is the formation that receives Delta and conditions future Flux.

Receipts from the Field

Examples can show conditions changing movement. They do not justify extracting private interiors or pretending one scene validates a universal law.

Condition receipt

The observable history, relationship, tool, timing, access, authority, constraint, practice, environment, or prior movement in play.

Topology receipt

How those conditions interacted, amplified, constrained, redirected, or made a route available.

Movement receipt

What changed in observable Agent movement after the Field changed—without stealing the Agent’s story.

Receipt slots remain bounded until Tony supplies the lived examples and locators. The Field does not get a synthetic child sacrifice just because the layout looked hungry.

Leave one position. Keep the whole Field.

No dock offered the entire lake. Return to the root map, step back into the Garden, or take the clear route to the Bridge.
