Prime Axioms
// The Three Roots
Three irreducible jurisdictions describe learning inside Agency Restoration Framework: movement within the Agent, change at the Interface, and the distributed conditions of the Field.
These are Prime Axioms within ARF: foundational assumptions that organize the framework. They are not presented here as universal scientific laws or as an empirically validated measurement system.
Learning-as-Flux
Learning is movement through time.
The Agent is not a container receiving a finished object called learning. Engagement, refusal, adaptation, continuity, rupture, and return change the path as it is lived.
Flux names the moving account: what changes, persists, pauses, branches, or carries within the Agent’s own learning.
Learning-as-Delta
Delta is the difference that movement makes.
Agent and facilitator contributions remain distinct. When they meet at the Interface, their interaction can change what learning becomes attainable.
Delta names that change without pretending the parties contributed equally, moved for one another, or authored the same thing.
Learning-as-Field
Learning is conditioned by distributed reality.
Histories, relationships, tools, timing, access, authority, constraints, practices, environments, and prior movement shape what can become possible.
Field names the formation surrounding movement—not background wallpaper, and not a single actor’s private design.
Not a ladder. Not three competing theories.
The roots operate simultaneously and recursively. Their scale labels help locate the read; they do not divide lived learning into sealed departments with tiny bureaucrats guarding the doors.
Flux does not graduate into Delta, and Delta does not level up into Field. Each jurisdiction is already live.
The Interface does not erase distinct contributions. The Field does not become the author of Agent movement.
The triad organizes inquiry and design. It does not yet claim a validated universal instrument for scoring learning.
What grows from the roots
When Flux, Delta, and Field remain distinct enough to be read—and coherent enough to move together— the framework can treat learning itself as storycraft.
Learning-as-Storycraft is not Prime Axiom IV. It is the crystallized construct: the braid produced when Agent movement, Interface change, and Field formation can be held together without flattening authorship, agency, autonomy, or refusal.
