Risky Play – Scripts

Scripts (8)

/foundations/risky-play/scripts

Short, repeatable lines that lower threat, keep choice visible, and speed re‑entry to practice.
Use neutral tone; act on observables; protect dignity; use educator judgment for timing and intensity.

Start‑Line (before play)

Set the Frame

“We’re in Risky Play. You choose what to try. I’ll watch for safety, dignity, and agency.”

Invite Plans

“What’s your plan for the first few minutes?” • “Solo, duo, or group?”

Surface Boundaries

“Name one boundary you’ll keep as you play.”
[bomb]Visible Guardrails|Boundaries reduce harm without erasing challenge.[/bomb]

Mid‑Play Coaching (during play)

Observables → Invite

“I’m seeing ___ (behaviour). Impact looks like ___ (on others/on game). Try A or B for two minutes?”

Offer Help Without Control

“Want a suggestion or do you have one?” • “You can keep trying or take a short break—your call.”

Conflict Cue

“Is this part of the game?” • “You good?” • “Check faces—looks like we lost the fun.”
[bomb]Conflict|Moves that erode others’ fun or agency.[/bomb]

Re‑Entry Lines (BRIG‑aligned)

B — Brush

“Hey, what’s going on?” • “Tell me about it.”

R — Repair

“I hear you. Here’s the impact I’m seeing… Let’s set a boundary, then try …”

I — Invite

“Try A or B for a few minutes?” • “Want a suggestion?”

G — Govern

“How did that work? Ready to adjust?”

Debrief (after play)

Short Reflection

“Name one thing that worked and one thing to try next time.”

Transfer

“Which move will you reuse somewhere else today?” • “Who helped keep it fun?”

Dignity Close

“Thanks for sticking with it.” • “You reset fast—that helped everyone re‑enter.”
