Clean signal is refusal made readable: one boundary, one release, no courtroom, no cosplay, no hidden invoice.

Refusal is not reaction. It is the system blocking invalid movement. It holds only when the signal is clear enough to be read, honoured, and carried without reinforcement.
The system cannot respect what it cannot detect.

Clean Signal
A boundary expression that can be read without guessing, translation, or ritual sacrifice to the clipboard gods.
Boundary
The line that preserves agency, dignity, and cost integrity.
Refusal
Constraint enforcement. Invalid movement does not proceed.
One Move
One signal. Then stop. If you keep adding, you are no longer refusing; you are bargaining with your own line.
Stability
The signal holds when pressure touches it.
Carry

Do not turn refusal into a motive-reading contest.

Not a lecture.

If you are still talking after the signal was released, you are probably paying for your own uncertainty with their nervous system. Rude invoice. Cancel it.

Can the refusal be reduced to one clear sentence without losing integrity?
If yes, use that.
If no, the read may not be clean yet. Return to 吞.
Stable Signal
Pressure looks for gaps.
Blurry signals invite pressure. Clear signals resolve it.
A stable boundary does not become louder just because it was tested.
It does not become softer just because someone disliked it.
It does not become punitive because the adult felt embarrassed.
Punishment is not clean signal.
Clear
Observable, consistent, stable, low-cost.
Blurry
Implied, shifting, negotiable, expensive.
Dirty
Personal, punitive, escalating, or dependent on adult intensity.
Carry Test
If the boundary used to hold with one clean signal and now requires explanation, repetition, or emotional seasoning, the signal is drifting.
Remove words. Restore signal. Re-read the field. Do not decorate the refusal until it collapses under the weight of its own accessories.

Three Refusal States
Clean Signal is a child of Boundaries & Refusal. It does not replace the parent page. It teaches how refusal becomes readable without fragmenting the field.
Pre-entry
The read says entry is not appropriate. The Agent remains outside the loop. No incursion. No performance cosplay.
Field Refusal
The Agent is present but refuses to release. The field must reorganize around the held position. That is not passivity. That is constraint.
Loop Exit
The Agent withdraws cleanly after incursion. Exit still costs. The adult fantasy that leaving is free can go sit in the corner with the other clown shoes.
Common Failure
▸ Over-explaining the refusal
Explanation can support a boundary after the line is stable. It cannot substitute for the line.
▸ Softening language to avoid discomfort
Softening can become ambiguity. Ambiguity becomes invitation. Invitation becomes repeated testing. Congratulations, you made a job.
▸ Changing the boundary after pushback
If the boundary changes whenever pressure rises, the field learns pressure is the interface. Tiny clown car. Big consequences.
▸ Punishing refusal and calling it consequence
Natural consequence means the cost belongs to the movement. Punishment means the adult added cost to force movement. The invoice knows. The clown nose honks.
